The savings program at Walgreens is called Balance Rewards. If you buy certain products, you will earn points which can be redeemed for dollars off your future purchase.
The products you can earn points on change each week. For example, buy a box of chocolates for $5.99 and you can earn 1000 points or spend $30 on selected products and you can earn 10,000 points!
Also, you can earn on prescriptions: 500 points per prescription or 1,500 points for a 90-day prescription.
These points can then be redeemed for dollars off your future purchase in the following increments:
- 5000 points = $5 reward
- 10,000 points = $10 reward
- 18,000 points = $20 reward
- 30,000 points = $35 reward
- 40,000 points = $50 reward
Walgreens also offers store coupons that you can stack with manufacturer coupons. You can find these in the weekly ad, in a booklet in a display near the front of the store, near the pharmacy, or at the beauty counter.
As with CVS, the best way to use the Balance Rewards program is to roll your rewards into another rewards offer. This minimizes your OOP expenses. Balance Rewards are as good as cash as well, so treat them as such.
